Update on my surgery

I am home from surgery. I am so glad to be back in my house and my bed!! I did not sleep well at all at the hospital. I am doing well here and am hoping for a quick recovery. I am in pain, obviously, but nothing I can't handle. I am sure things will get better each day. Thanks for the Prayers.

Tori handled it wonderfuly. Once she saw me in the hospital and could see that I was ok then she was ok. She did not like the IV being in my hand but was happy that there was medicine in the IV that could help her Mommy feel better. She has been a great little assistant nurse to Daddy. Last night, I was still downstairs when she went to bed. She came over to me, took my hand and said, "Mommy it is getting late. You really need to go to bed so you can get some rest." It was 7:45pm , mind you. ;)

Keep praying for a quick recovery!

Tori's fears are lessening...

I am so grateful to my friend Christy. Tori absolutely adores her. Christy went through this same procedure a while back and her daughter was the exact same age as Tori when it happened, so "Miss Christy" talked to Tori. Christy was wonderful with her. Tori asked questions, expressed her fears and also just listened. She told me that she still does not want me to go but feels better about it and she did not cry last night! So, THANK YOU CHRISTY!!!

surgery

Hi all! i am having surgery on sep. 25th. So, just remember us in your prayers. All is fine. It is just something that needs to be done. I am not nervous and know everything will be fine.

But, Tori on the other hand is so worried. She has a different question for me every night and is just really stressing over it. She really does not like the fact that they have to cut me and that I have to stay at the hospital. So, please say some special prayers for her. Pray that God will ease her fears and give me the right words to comfort her. I looked all over the internet last night for information on preparing a child for an adult's surgery but there is NOTHING out there. Thanks for your prayers.

Go colts!!

We love football season around this house! We can't wait for the Colts season opener tonight.. GO Colts!!
We got to go tour the new Colts stadium!!!!! I left my camera with drained batteries in the car, so I have no pictures. ARGH!! But, it was an amazing experience. We got to go on the sidelines and actually walk around on the end zone. That part was so cool. Tori and Sam both wanted to be hoisted up to reach the goal post but when Mike started to hoist Tori up she said it was too high and wanted down. Sam went after Tori and decided the same thing.
Now, walking on the field and seeing the Colts Locker room was awesome. BUT, the crowds were horrendous! Not just bad, but HORRENDOUS!! You could barely even walk and they only had one exit open. Tori was funny. When we got back to the care I asked everyone what their favorite part was and Tori said "Getting back to the car"!!! Well, you have to think about her horrible view before we actually got out to the field. All she could see were the backsides of everyone in front of her!! That part could not have been very enjoyable!

But, besides the crowd, it was an incredible experience. How many people can say they have stood in the end zone on the field of their favorite team!!!

GO COLTS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

We have lived here for four years now and had never went to the State fair. I think about it every year but something always comes up. This year my friend, Jennifer asked me to go. I thought,"What better person to go with" Jennifer goes every year. So, my plan was just to let her lead the way and Sam and I would follow (Tori was in School- it was her second day of school). My plan worked beautifully. Jennifer was a great tour guide. I have to say the kiddos did FANTASTIC!!
This was Sammy's favorite part! He could not wait to tell PaPaw about it! He was just SO excited!Kendra, on the other hand, was not impressed with the slimy fish!!!A taste of farm living. Sam got to milk a "cow". He thought that was a lot of fun. The kids area there was so cute. They had it set up like a farm and the kids were to go around and do farm chores. At the end they we awarded with play money and were allowed to go"buy" something with their money.Sammy bought a cheese stick.Sammy and his friend Kendra. Aren't they adorable! Whoa, horsey!!!!!!!!!
Sam loves animals. He couldn't get enough of all the animals.
Hey Sam, Is Your Mama A Llama???

First Day of School Celebration!

We had an ice cream celebration on the first day of school. It was such a treat for them because they got to pile on the toppings just for that one day! Yummy! Can it be the first day of school every day?
Want some?

The First Day of First Grade!

"It's ok Sammy. I will be back home after your nap, ok!! I know you will miss me but we can play when I get home!"
My big first grader
Tori and our neighbor Madison getting on the bus.

WOW!! The bus to and from school! How exciting!!!!!
Well, I told all of you that Tori was SO nervous about First grade. I am happy to report that she LOVES it. She likes being at school longer. She likes eating lunch at school and riding on the bus with her friends to and from school! I am thrilled that she is loving it so much!

Hannah Montana Rocks!!!!!!!

The Best of Both Worlds!!!!!! Tori had a Hannah Montana Concert party when the concert aired on the Disney channel. The girls had a blast and I have to admit- I kind of enjoyed it too!
It was a great GNO! "Let's GO! GNO! Let's Go! GNO! Let's Go!!"

Even Sammy caught Hannah fever! We weren't able to get his 3-D glasses to stay on so.... we used a headband. LOL There is the kids friend and neighbor Morgan.

Our fun-packed fourth of July

We went to the Carmel 4th of July parade. It was raining, miserable weather, but we had a great time! It was just fun being there with my kids no matter what the weather was. This parade was in the morning at 10am. We went home, Sam and Tori had a short nap and then we went to the Noblesville parade at 5:30pm and walked in it for MOPS. The weather for the Noblesville parade was wonderful. It was a good time walking through the parade with my MOPS friends. I have to say a great big Thank you to Scott and Chad, my friends husbands for being such good sports and supporting MOPS by joining us in the parade. Mike had to work, I sure he was very disappointed ;) Don't worry Mike, there is always NEXT YEAR!!!!
We then went straight to the carmel fireworks to meet my dear friend, Lori and her family. It was a great full day!

New hair cut

I am still playing catch up since I started a new blog during a busy summer after a lot of stuff had already happened.
Here is Tori with her first REAL Haircut. Sure she had some little trims, but nothing big. She donated her hair to locks of love and was very proud. She had this done the beginning of July.

This is for you Locks of love!! (Look in her hand. She is holding the ponytail of hair to donate!"Oh, I love this part, MOMMY!!!"
